On 4th February 2021, Dr Andrew Tan, on behalf of Farrer Park Hospital, was honoured to talk on Radionuclide or ‘Magic Bullet’ cancer therapies.
It was a fruitful session where Dr Andrew Tan explored nuclear medicine radionuclide cancer treatments that have been in clinical use for decades, but have only expanded rapidly in recent years, due to the development of small molecule peptides with specific cancer targeting properties.
The talk touched on our local experiences in using radionuclide therapies such as Lu177 DOTATATE in the treatment of metastatic nasopharyngeal cancer, and the potential future pipeline of newer therapies and the medical advancements they bring with them.
